"The better this card, the better the maps look on the internet!"
Not a joke at all.
If your servers video card can only display 16 colours that is how many
colours will be in the GIF (or other image format) generated by MapXtreme on
the server. The point being the quality of the image generated by MapXtreme
is reliant on the capabilities of the video card in the machine that has
MapXtreme installed on it.
Basic vector graphics probably wont be a problem but aerial/satellite photos
will not be represented as you desire.
Of course currently most new machines will have a video card of greater
colour depth than 16 colours, but it is still something that you should be
aware of.
Laugh at your peril.

And make sure your network is 100Mbit and capable of more in the future,
talk to your IT department about the use of switches instead of hubs and so
on. Make sure you have a broad bandwidth!
Also in the case of Mapxtreme, make sure your server has a capable video
card. The better this card, the better the maps look on the internet!
