You can drop and drag a map directly from Mapinfo to Word or PowerPoint
by using the 'Drag map window' icon (it's on the main toolbar and looks
like a hand holding a yellow handle).
To ensure you receive no border -
- go to Options,
- then Output Settings,
- then 'untick' Export Border.
Do this before dragging the map and it will allow you to drag and drop
without bringing the border.
One word of warning (and thanks to all who assisted with this query last
year). Ensure that your fonts, characters and icons are from a standard
Windows set if you show the PowerPoint on a different machine from the
machine which has Mapinfo. Otherwise, you won't have the correct
symbols and text unless you load these to the presentation machine.
Print quality is unchanged, but the maps might add to the size of your
PowerPoint presentation.

Hello all, I was hoping that someone might be able to offer some advice
regarding the best way to copy or import maps into programs such as MS

degrades substantially compared to printing directly from the layout

I have tried to copy the map window and paste that directly into MS
