I found that as long as I remove my hand from the mouse, I actually copy what I am attempting to copy. It seems to me that the slightest movement (even without noticind any movement of the hand) of the mouse cancels out the copy and I also make sure that I release the CTRL key before I move the mouse. I could be way off base, but it seems to work better for me.

I have a work around, it's not very elegant. Just "Ctrl-c" 3 or 4 times every time you want to copy. That seems to actually copy it. It takes more time, but if you do it fast, it's not much longer. It becomes second nature after a while, I do it outside of MI now, and people give me weird looks and wonder why I'm clacking the keyboard all the time. -Derek -------------------------- Derek E. In our use of Mapinfo, we have to copy and paste (Ctrl-c and Ctrl-v) hundreds of times per day. We found that in Mapinfo4, the 'copy' command would not always successfully copy the desired text to the clipboard, which leads to the wrong text being pated on the next pate attempt. Not good. Through a most annoying trial-and-error process, we found that the problem i snot hardware-related, ONLY occurs in Mapinfo and occurs on all our PCs. So, we figured we'd get Mapinfo 6.5 and hopefully the issue would be resolved. Well, 20 grand later, we've still got the same problem. Has anyone encountered this issue? Any ideas for a fix or workaround? I checked the Mapinfo site, and all the patches were not relevant to this issue. I'm going to deal directly with Mapinfo tomorrow, but I thought I'd see if we were alone with regards to this copy/paste hell.
