Hi Mandy and List,
Following is what Tech Support answered me on a similar question (the
buffering bug). To my amazement - it worked! Maybe it'll do the same for
you.
"This is probably the pernicious error that has cropped up from time to
time, and drives us tech support people mad. On the computers that do not
crash, check which printer is set as the default. I suspect they will have a
different printer, or possibly a
different printer driver.
A Floating Point Exception error has occured in the following circumstances:
a printer driver has not been loaded
a printer driver is not properly installed
a printer driver is causing a conflict with Mapinfo
Install an updated driver or re-install the printer driver through the
Windows Control Panel."
Hope this helps.

Subject: MI-L Floating Point Exemption Error

explanation for it yet. One lister recently mentioned that the latest
Mapinfo Patch (for ver 6.5) may help - unfortunately it doesn't in my case.
This error happens in both Version 6 & 6.5 of Mapinfo, so the my idea of it
being a MI 6.5 problem goes out the window! Also the error wont appear on my
colleagues machine (who has MI 6) and he is doing the same processes as me!
