You might also consider MapCalc. It has all of the needed line of sight modules and even more complex constructs as well as being able to handle the two value issue - essentially add the tower to the DEM then calculate the visual proximity.
You can download a trailware verison. The trialware is complete in functionality although limited to 100x100 girds and WGS84 projections. Has excellent integration to both MapInfo Professional 6.x and Surfer 7.0. http://www.redhensystems.com/mapcalc Red Hen Systems neil -----Original Message----- From: Steve Carlsson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, November 26, 2001 3:51 PM To: MapInfo-L Subject: MI-L vertical mapper Hi listers Here is one for the vertical mapper users. I am considering vertical mapper for analysis, but need to clarify an issue. I have been told that vertical mapper will not allow analysis using 2 z values for the same location. For example. I have a tower at location A. The tower has a height value associated with it. I have the tower sitting on a digital elevation model at location A. So there is a height value for the x,y coordinate in the DEM and a height value for the tower itself. Does anyone know if vertical mapper can support display and analysis of the tower height on a DEM???
