Just a thought: If you are going to put this into a Word document, why not have the watermark created in Word and use the 'drop and drag' icon in Mapinfo to drag your Map directly into word? (forget layouts and work straight from the map to Word). I've found that creating a bitmap doesn't work as well as using the 'drop and drag' icon - bitmaps tend to print 'chunky'. It's a slightly different solution, but it might be a better way of getting the result you are after.

Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. Users I have posted this question to the group before but unfortunately, I either didn't explain myself clearly or the responses that I did receive were not much help. So here goes again......... I have a layout with three frames. 1. a map of a district 2. an empty frame that covers my entire map and that serves as a border (fill pattern :none) 3. text objects that are spread across my map (1) and that are to serve as watermarks I am trying to create watermarks for the text objects such that the watermark is under my boundary layer and is transparent. The procedure of selecting the map (1) - send to back; then selecting the text object (3) - send to back selecting the empty frame (2) - send to back and finally clicking on the map (1) and bring to front has worked on some of my maps and not on others. I would then like to import my MapInfo layout into a word document as a bitmap. Has anyone done this before and able to point me in the right direction. Regards.
