Hi Steve

Basically MapXtreme NT / MapXtreme Java are web-versions based on MapX and MapJ. MapX
and MapJ itself cannot be used for developing web-apps (licensing issues). Depending
on how complex your app is (is it REGIS ? - we developed something for real estate
using MapXtreme if you are interested), it might be a major task or even impossible to
port it to MapXtreme (MapX does not have all the capabilities MapInfo and MapBasic
have).

>2. Integrate the existing MapBasic app with VB or Java?

You could use Java and, as already suggested, i.e. MapServer, which is open source and
therefore not as expensive as MapXtreme ;-) ... see i.e. www.mapserver.ch or
www.mapsonlinux.ch. Again, Depending on how complex your app is, it might be a major
task or even impossible to port it to MapServer.

>3. Drive the app over a web connection?

Such as a terminal server (???). As you said, there is a licensing problem, except you
have a limited number of named users which have a MapInfo License each.

best regards
flavio
