To convert files from NAD27 to NAD83, whether it is on the fly, or by
saving-as, in MapInfo, is done using the NADCON algorithm if you are in the
U.S. In Canada, the algorithm used is something called NTV2. As I am in
Canada, the NTV2 calculation is the on that I thought I would need, and it
just so happens that MapInfo is presently working on a patch for v.6.5 to
include NTV2. Unfortunately, I recently found out the in Ottawa, we went
with a custom equation that is more accurate than NTV2. This leaves me with
a problem everytime I bring in a file in NAD 27, as our NAD83 files have
been converted from 27 using this custom equation.

My question is: Does anyone no of a way to customize MapInfo, to be able to
input different algorithms in for the conversion of NAD 27 to NAD 83? Our
GIS programers who still use VISION GIS were able to soft-code in this
algorithm into VISION to do the conversions with our equation.

Any thoughts on this problem would be helpful.
