Mark, I recall an article in the hard copy Mapinfo news letter from a year or so ago that covered what you are attempting, at least close to it. I don't have the copy handy and don't recall exactly when it was, perhaps someone else on the list will. The article used as an example, a 'search and rescue' mission involving 5 or six searchers and via GPS reports from them, their progress across terrain could be tracked via updating a workspace somehow. I don't recall specifics.
