just to confirm Paul's comment, we have arc SDE and I can confirm that the middleware is not overly friendly with 'other products' accessing oracle. Accessing the data directly is the only option and it all comes back in any colour you like as long as its a black star, blck line or white polygon (grrrr!) if you have consistently attributed data (ie all your data is always the same info) then you can set up local tools for resetting styles on local copies, or thematicise via templates. but once you go down the sde route you are locked into to edits via esri. I find it all a bit clunky..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I might be wrong - I never get to the shows myself because I now live in the distant North where we cling onto a crofting existence on a harsh rocky shore, subsisting on rusty girders and brown ale. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< luxury lad! suppin brown ale and chewin girders is nowt but dream to me, us civil servants have sell our kiddies to be allowed to work ne'er mind partying at shindigs.....ee... I remember when you could buy a solid bugfree gis and extensions galore and still have change from tuppence..... its the weekend (!) ********************************************************************* This e-mail message, and any files transmitted with it, are confidential and intended solely for the use of the addressee.
