Doug, When you say attribute data in AutoCAD, do you mean block attributes, attributes in Object Data Tables (i.e. you using Autodesk Map not straight AutoCAD), or attributes in linked external databases? The options vary depending on how the data is stored. I'm not an FME expert, but if it's block attributes you should be identify these using Workbench and point them to the MI TAB attributes. If it's Object Data, you'll need to have Autodesk Map running and at least version 2003 of FME in order to pick up this data. If it's external databases, you in for a lot of fun with FME - it's a complex process to set it up right in Workbench. If it is the latter, I may be able to provide you with a Workbench workspace to get you started - let me know. In my opinion, if you have access to Autodesk Map, you're better off using the MAPEXPORT function to convert to MID/MIF. This will bring across the attribute data no matter what format (so long as you tell it to). If you just have straight AutoCAD you can export to DXF and pick up block attributes. In fact, the Universal Translator that comes bundled with MI will also allow you to convert from a DWG and pick up the block attributes. Otherwise use FME and it's probably worth joining the FME discussion group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fme/ <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fme/> <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> . Hope this is of some help. Regards, Keith

I have got FME software. I am unable to successfully bring the attribute data across in the translation. Can anybody give me some tips on how to achieve this, please.
