Hi All, I am working on a method to access WMS servers through firewalls and proxy servers that require authentication. I need to know if WMS servers just use TCP port 80 or if they use other ports as well.
The program I am trying to use is called HTTPort (http://www.htthost.com), it creates HTTP tunnels through proxy servers and firewalls. So far I have successfully got it to work for news groups, but I am having trouble with WMS servers. I am trying to connect to MapInfo's Global WMS Server (http://www.mapinfo.com/miwms), but my results have become confusing. I keep getting a "Not Found" error message (at least it beats "Access Denied"). I am looking for any ideas, comments, etc..
