Hi All, I have had some success in using HTTPort (from http://www.htthost.com) to create HTTP tunnels through our Proxy Server and provide the authentication to the proxy server. I have successfully connected to the Australian Atlas WMS server, the software is a little slow, but it worked.
Thanks to Ian Erickson and Lars Nielson, for your input. If you are going to use this tool (or other HTTP tunnelling software), I would check with your IT department before you start. This software may not work with all WMS servers or all Proxy servers and firewalls.
