Dear list,
I hope to get some help to delete records from a MI table.
I have a roadnet table for Germany consisting of 6 Million rows.
2 millon rows have no entry concering the Street name. (blank)
I want to delete these Records.
My tests:
1. Try to delete when Name ="" ---- no answer after 2 hours, 4 hours.
2. export to ACCESS make a field "Name_Filled" with [0;1]
export to MI try to join nothing happens after 2 hours, 4 hours.
3. Same as 2 but I made 5 packages with 1 million rows saved them, opened
the first, joined with the origin and
update field "Name_Filled"
Do this for all packages.
Now I got the info name Filled for all 6 million rows. Indicate the field
"Name_Filled" and try
to delete where Name_Filled =0
nothing happend after 2 , 4 , 6 hours.
This is annoying!
Does anybody know what I can do?
I am using MI 7.0 on a 1GHZ and 512 MB RAM PC with
WINNT 4.0 service Pack 6
Not really funny is the following:
-e.g. tried the same on an equivalent PC with Arcview 3.2 -after 6 minutes
I got the result.
