>>Can Vertical Mapper be set to honour breaklines when interpolating a
TIN

I have been informed by a VM specialist (mtogr) that breaklines can be
implemented in VM by converting the breakline to closely spaced points.
Then use the points in the interpolation. You have to know the value of
the 'breakline points' and be very very careful with the distance to the
other point, because the TIN interpolation might create significant
under/over shots. In some cases this approach will work in others it
will not.

No, experiment with the TIN interpolation settings is the best you can
do. Northwood/Maconi/MapInfo Corp. has been told for years, to support
break lines in creating of VM grids.
The future is still obscure for VM, with every thing going to be
converted to .NET, I think you will see no updates to VM in the next few
years.

Another go is data manipulation with the VM stamp method, where you
stamp/merge one grid onto/into another grid. I have see environment
people in my company doing very nice data manipulation with river
systems by stamping different depths onto a river delta.

Hi Vertical Mappers

Can Vertical Mapper be set to honour breaklines when interpolating a
TIN? Clipping the resulting grid is not sufficient for what I need to
do.

Thanks in advance
