Carolyn,

The problem you are having here could be caused by difference in
coordinatsystem or lack of specifying a coordsys when reading/writing
coordinates in your MapBasic application.

The difference in coordinatesystem can be as simple as a difference in bounds.

I would recommend that you start by checking that you specify a coordsys in
your application, eg.: Set Coordsys Table POINTTABLE
If you do this, make sure that your tables have the same coordintesystem and
same bounds, you can use the CoordSys Bounds Manager to check this

Subject: [MI-L] Creating lines that snap to objects

Hi Group

I've written a mapbasic application that creates points based on known x and y
coordinates and then constructs lines between these points, however i seem to
be having a problem getting my lines to snap onto the points, the beginning/end
of the created lines are a few centremetres away from the previously created
points.

Does anyone know how i can get these lines to snap to the points?

thanks

Carolyn

Subject: [MI-L] Canada Jobs

Hi,

I am moving to Vancouver in the new year, and I am interested in picking up
some MapInfo work there.

I am primarily a MapX/MapXtreme developer. I have been using both product since
version 4.5 of MapX up to the latest .NET version. I am also a MapBasic
programmer and trainer for my current employer. In addition I have also
developed a number of MapXMobile applications.

If there is anyone on the list that can give me an idea of what the current job
market (in particular the GIS job market) is like in Vancouver, I would really
appreciate it.

Thanks
