Dear fellow listers:

I have been put in the position of GIS "expert" - and am coming to terms with
MapInfo.... Apologies in advance for the simplicity of this question.

I have a subdistrict table with 66,000+ entries, and am looking to modify it to end up
with the 27 provinces. One idea I've tried: sql-select the Province field to extract
the individual rows for each province, then "combine objects using columns" under the
'Table' pull-down menu. This works - sort of. In the map, I still have the internal
boundaries of each subdistrict to delete - needless to say, an effort I'm unwilling to
make 66,000 times.

The final table should have just 27 rows, with all provincial areas and outer
perimeters summed correctly. I know there's a simple answer to this....

Finally, another issue. What is the maximum row size MI can handle? I hope to be
getting two files, each with 2 million+ rows, each with at least 3 records.

Regards,
