I have a quick (probably simple, too) question about thematic mapping
using the "region individual value default". I have a table with soils
data: column one consists of each soil type. I wanted them to be listed
in a certain order (not alphabetically but grouped by the different
varieties of soils) so I added a column with numbers "ranking" each soil
type. I then performed a query to sort the data based on the new column
with numbers ranking the data from 1 to 16. It worked like a charm,
however, after I saved the query as a new table and re-opened the table,
the thematic mapping process doesn't seem to recognize the new order of
my data. It wants to list the data based on the original order. Can
anyone make sense of this? Is there an easier way to manipulate the
order of categories in the legend? I am working with MI v. 5. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
