Missing metadata in SHP files. ESRI keeps the datumn stuff somewhere else
therefore SHP is incomplete. Another one of those "warring tribe"
non-features just to slow down any movement between the products.

Subject: MI: Shapelink bug?

The conversion completes successfully and I am able to import into Mapinfo
(v4.0), however when I ask for the projection of the layers, Mapinfo
reports that they are in an unknown projection. Also, the projection
checking program proj.mbx does not display a projection for these converted
files.

Washington State Plane (South) in feet, with the HPGN datum. I am using the
Washington State Plane South ( 1983 datum, feet ) projection for conversion
in Shapelink.
