We have just been informed by our distributor in India that MapInfo Hardware lock will be replaced with Soft Keycode. The process outlined is as follows: The first time MapInfo is installed it will generate a Keycode which will work only on that machine. This keycode which generates the Hardware ID has to be then send back to MapInfo. MapInfo will then generate a KEY code which will be applicable only for that Machine. This keycode will be send to the customer.
