Hello Jennifer, > I'm combining boundaries using MapInfo 5.0 and I'm getting a message > that says "Error overlaying objects". MapInfo's tech support says > there is a problem with my data but I've looked into it and cant find > any problems (like bow ties or lines that go over themselves). MI may have passed the buck a little there - it's not always a problem with the data. The best thing you can do is to clean the data as best as possible and hang on for Mi Pro v5.5 which (I'm told) includes the new map object processing support. I think that the MapCheck utility is still available from the MapInfo, or perhaps TestDrive site. It's pretty good, but sometime reports a problem which it cannot/does_not locate. If the offending object only has a few nodes, it's sometime possible to spot the problem. Bad object geometry causes a variety of problems for many mapping systems: division by zero, printer problems, area miss-calculations, processing failures, etc. Regards, Warren Vick Europa Technologies Ltd, U.K. http://www.europa-tech.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
