As far as I have been able to understand, MI must generate a virtual image
of the size you intend to obtain (here 140 x 100 cms) with a definition of
120 pixels per inch, on which it "maps" the selected window contents. In
your case a matrix of about 82Meg positions. If colour is applied on that,
you can imagine the memory requirement that is implied in such an operation.

I have querried MI on the subject, got evasive answers, in fact had to
convinced them that their images were really at the 120 ppi definition, made
many tests that have shown me that with a 64 meg machine I could export an
image the equivalent of 4 letter-size pages, not five.

That restriction applies to all export formats including WMF, which is kind
of surprising given the fact that it is not a raster format.

There is another problem with this feature : the images are not exported to
scale. The overall size is respected but within that frame, the window
content is registered with a shrinkage of 4% about, and the upper left
corner of the window is not at pixel 0,0 which shift a smaller "map" within
the assigned size (the margins are all changed).

MI are aware of the problem but have not indicated when it will be fixed.

Sorry about those bad news.
