Hi,
Does anybody running MapInfo in a multi-user environment running on Windows
NT have any experience of table-locks not being released when they should
be??
We are running MI 5.5 on NT4 service pack 3, with all client machines
running Windows 95. Intermittently, If somebody opens a table, even if only
with read access, and someone else tries to edit the table they may be told
that access is denied. A look on NT Server Manager shows that the original
user has the file open in read mode only.
The even stranger part comes when the original user shuts MI down
completely. The server manager STILL shows that user as having read access
to the table, therefore blocking the second user from updating the table.
Only when the first user's access to the file is closed down via server
manager can the second user update the table.
Does anybody have any idea if this is a fault with NT or MapInfo???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
