Morning Mitch,

A few years back I had this huge job of preparing layouts from hell and I ran into the
frustrating problem of never managing to get the mapper to fit the layout frame
exactly. I had written a routine to resize the mapper window to the same proportions
as the frame. It made life that much easier. I don't know if you'll find this useful,
if you want I'll mail you (or anyone else who needs it for that matter!) a copy.

Before you get too excited I used non-earth meters maps and my layouts and mappers are
all set to metric, so I don't know if different units will effect the program, they
might. It's got some very simple coding, with no choices for units etc.

I wrote this ages ago in my first forays into MapBasic, but you're welcome to it,
especially if it eases some aggravation. Never wise to burst a blood vessel over a
layout!

Subject: MI Utilising Space on Layout

Good afternoon all,

Can anyone help me with utilising the space on my Layout.

Whenever I click on Window>New Layout Window I never manage to get the map
to utilise all of the space in the Layout. Consequently I get a small map on
a large layout with lots of white around the map.

I have a map of a state and am trying to utilise the space by manually
changing the Zoom on my Map Window then seeing the effect through the New
Layout command. This does improve the situation somewhat but this is very
time consuming.

"There's gotta be a better way" that saves time (I hope).

Can anyone assist?

Thanks in Advance
