Jason Lowe commented on MAPREDUCE-4157:
---------------------------------------
All of the test failures are unrelated to the patch because the tests fail with
error messages like the following:
{noformat}
org.apache.hadoop.yarn.YarnException: java.net.BindException: Problem binding
to [0.0.0.0:8031] java.net.BindException: Address already in use
{noformat}
Apparently rogue Hadoop daemons are running on the machine and preventing these
tests from binding to the usual ports. A failure to cleanup a prior test run
maybe?
I manually ran the tests, and they all passed.

> Currently when the ApplicationMaster unregisters with the ResourceManager,
> the RM kills (via the NMs) all the active containers for an application.
> This introduces a race where the AM may be trying to clean up and may not
> finish before it is killed. The RM should give the AM a chance to exit
> cleanly on its own rather than always race with a pending kill on shutdown.
