i think it's a very good idea. I would make that link point to a page
explaining about OSM concept, that it's not a WMF project, they need a
separate account, what things are acceptable, etc.
Preferably, I would make that wallpage at OSM side, in that way that it
wouldn't appear if it was a logged in OSM user (not just for old-OSMers,
but also for wikipedians which create an account and then go editing
through several articles).
