Indulge me another email on this subject? (I had already written this
email last week. I had hoped to pin down a conclusion before sending it,
but turned up little absolute.) In my defense, though: CNN, the NY Times,
the Washington Post, and US News & World Report all use the color theme
I originally recommended, as you can see below.

the history of this color convention (in part because the search word
