This type of behavior, as with similar behavior reported in this
thread, is almost certainly due to driver issues with the printer
driver of the printer in question.  Printer drivers are notoriously
buggy and are frequently updated, with updated usually made available
via the manufacturer's web site.  Any time your encounter printing
difficulties, the first thing you should do is check the printer
manufacturer's web site for any driver updates.

In more recent versions of windows, this process is perhaps made
a little more simple with "Windows Update" which lets you automatically
download and install pertinent updates, including drivers from
participating manufacturers.  However, it is often better to go
"straight to the source", i.e. the manufacturer's web site.
