I have experienced the problem on Win 98, NT 4.0, and now W2k.

Under all three OSs I have experienced the problem with both PCL and
PS drivers for a HP 4500. That includes more variations of drivers
than I can shake a stick at, because some were written by MS, some by
HP, and some of the PS by Adobe. There were at least two different
versions of PCL involved, 5 and 6.

Under 2k, I have also experienced the problem under the Acrobat
Distiller printer driver, and now a HP 4650 with postscript drivers.
I have the PCL drivers installed, but the PS is default. I've also
gotten the problem with a HP 755 CM, using the newest PS drivers from
HP.

I might be coming up with a comonality though. I bet I've always had
a postscript printer set as default...

Sometimes I can reboot the computer, start up Maptitude (4.7), open a
saved map, and right off the bat it won't print.

Curiously, I have found a simple work around that fixes the problem
100% of the time. Save whatever the current map is on the desktop,
and call it "temp." Saving it elsewhere doesn't seem to work. Calling
it other things doesn't seem to work either. Strange, eh?

Actually, it doesn't fix it 100% of the time, because every once in a
while, the program will crash, but other than that it works.
