I'm having an on going issue with Maptitudes layout page sizing. The problem I'm noticing is that Maptitude doesn't size the paper size to the exact size specified. For example, let's say that I require that all my maps be at a specific scale of 1:100,000 and that the reverse calculation for the compatible paper size is, 8.1 inches x 11.1 inches. Maptitude appears to consistently create a layout page just shy of this dimension. Maptitude creates a page size of 8.05 inches by 11.05inches, which doesn't provide me with any confidence in my scale using Maptitude; actually it equates to an error of 416 plus feet, which is unacceptable even at 1:100,000.
Normally I use a precision of 100th of an inch in my paper sizing but truncated to something more measurable within Maptitude by using 10th of an inch instead. I'm using ADOBE PDF writer 5.0 but am able to repeat the error using cutePDF as well. Does anyone know if the folks at Caliper are aware of this or if I'm overlooking the obvious?
