I agree, I believe you need to convert the shape file to a Maptitude standard format first. Then follow the proceedure outlined by Moshe using the converted layer.

Try importing your polygon layer into Maptitude format and doing the export into Maptitude .CDF. If I export the layer a shapefile it won't let me add fields for lat and lon. It writes over existing fields with screwy numbers that I don't think are lat and lons.
