TOP STORY - Qwest, which on Monday lost out to Verizon during the
hotly-contested bidding for MCI, reported today that for the first quarter
it had net income of $57 million, an improvement from a $310 million
loss reported for the same three-month period in 2004. Net income got
the boost thanks to the sale of wireless assets to Verizon. First quarter
revenues were $3.45 billion.
