If this is the only ad then I can see a need for further discussion. The reason I say this is that If we assume this is one of a series, the campaign will have time to deepen the themes through repetition and the use of different models. Speaking of themes, this person looks to me like a "real life" person engaged in fun. The fun is all theatrics and yet has elements of: - freedom, by intimating flight - personal power, through the iconic use of "superman" garb - "everyman:" the mask & model tell me she could be any one of us "real people" I like it. Everyman shines (Clark Kent becomes Superman) when using our Liberating Tools(tm). One last point and this has to do with the use of "good looking" or "hot looking" people. Unless their inclusion is /incidental/ to a campaign, that is, by luck, I say don't make an effort to use "hot looking" people; male or female. To do otherwise hints at some of the same objectification of men and, egregiously, women in the ad campaigns deployed by the alcohol & beauty industries. Sex may very well sell but, I'd hate to see any FLOSS community depend on that kind of campaign*. Freedom of speech and personal empowerment for real-life people. That pretty much sums up why I recommend FLOSS projects in the first place. Regardless of what you choose, thanks for all of your work and here's to a fruitful 2011, -Craig *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei6JvK0W60I On 12/26/2010 09:36 AM, Dave Johnson wrote: > > > > This photo was from a pro.
