Hi all,

I received a detailed anecdotal report of wild dolphins in the Southeast
U.S. potentially using a chumming technique: grinding up sardines at the
surface and dropping them over sea whips to lure demersal fish to the
surface, which the dolphins then consumed.

I'd love to hear from others who may have similar observations, as the only
other documented baiting behavior I find involves captive killer whales
using their fish to attract pool-side birds.

Best,

Errol Ronje
