The configure.pl script was correctly parsing the registry XML, but on attempting to connect via DBI was failing because it could not load the appropriate database driver, due to it not being installed. Note that the various DBD drivers do not get picked up by the configure.pl script because they are dynamically loaded internally by the DBI module.
