https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-upholds-trump-travel-ban/ The majority basically bought all of the Trump administration's bullshit excuses, suggesting that because the Muslim ban doesn't apply to all Muslim countries and that it also applies to some non-Muslims, that we should basically ignore all of the things Trump said during his campaign explicitly stating that the aim was to ban Muslims. Of course, in practice, it doesn't ban all of them because he didn't list off every single Muslim country or every single Muslim individual. But the people who were banned were targeted as Muslims. Note also how the Court points out that these are the same countries targeted by Obama. Yeah? So? Obama repeatedly expressed anti-Muslim sentiment himself because of his fear of being conflated with Muslims or anything that ignorant people might confuse with Muslims (see here: https://alethonews.com/2010/10/19/obama-extends-his-islamophobia-to-include-sikhs-as-well/ ). The "not all Muslims are targeted" argument would also imply that the US wasn't being racist during the slave era because not all blacks were enslaved (such as the ones in the North). Of course, that would ignore that those blacks who *were* enslaved were enslaved *because they were black*! The entire episode is ludicrous. These are the kinds of orders you see in conflict-ridden developing states. Absolutely disgusting. Amith R.
