My historical knowledge of "Jesus Christ" is from Kautsky's FOUNDATIONS OF CHRISTIANITY who says there is a reference in TACITUS to a "prophet" crucified in Palestine (Judea??) in the rule of Tiberius ... that's about the only "hard" historical reference outside of the Bible and everything stemming from that ---
However, there must have been some (at least a) "theological rebel" against established Judaism to lead to an offshoot with enough followers to at least bother the Romans enough to start the persecutions --- which ended up with Constantine deciding to "join 'em" rather than continually try to "beat 'em"! And those New Testament lines that can be interpreted as supporting "communism" of some sort were written by humans who CLAIMED to be followers of (whoever this) "Jesus" (was) ....
