I, too, was going to suggest _Letters to Americans_ sounded like the book Fred was seeking. Good suggestions all.
There's new titles eerie so often that contribute to an understanding of the context, particularly the First International, which had a serious, though relatively short-lived impact beyond the rather narrow corridors of sectarian history. I mention these in the notes to _Long Road to Harpers Ferry_, which should be available at your local library. I've been using much of the Covid quarantine time to work on movement history in Reconstruction Washington and adjacent bits of Virginia, which I hope will extend _Long Road_ from the brink of the Civil War through the start of a distinct, independent, and self-identified socialist movement in the U.S. . . . if the Murder Hornets dont' get us all. Stay safe, comrades. And have a Happy New Year! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
