Yes. It is very important to assert trans rights -- as inherent, among those that object to them, is the presumption that men are sentenced to violence by being male and women can only be safe among women who were born anatomically female. Aside from the disdain for solidarity, transphobia sabotages the feminist agenda by arguing that gender relations are essentially set. As a socialist and male, I don't seek to pontificate on feminist debates -- but transphobia is an argument primarily about maleness --and that concerns me -- not just as a perspective, but personally. In this regard, transphobia is the doctrine of political pessimism. That's' the clincher. It's like the Zionist Jew's need for an 'Israel' because anti-Semitism cannot be changed or overcome.
