There is a degree of sexual dimorphism in human beings, but not very much as
compared with other species.  Such dimorphism as there is must have some
functional basis to have evolved in the first place. We homosexuals, indeed,
would be at a loss without it.

But that is very different from asserting as Charles apparently attempts to
do--with many others it would seem--that a "natural" absolute gender binary
dialectic is required in political economy.

Why not admit simply that there is no dialectic in nature--that when we descend
into the macro and micro worlds, things are different--and when we reach the
quantum level they become incomprehensible?  This restricts dialectic to the
human sphere, but does not eliminate it.  We die, and we know of nothing in the
micro world that answers or responds to that or transforms it through the magic
of synthesis (or whatever the precisely correct Marxist or Hegelian word is)
into something we can grasp intuitively if we raise our consciousness
sufficiently.

OK philosophers--you have your intellectual rigor to attend to and I admire
it--but you have your work cut out for you to prove that positive and negative,
male and female, etc. etc. are dialectical except when remanufactured into
ideology and rhetoric,  even if Yin is Yin and Yang is Yang in a poetic sense.
In reality, there are as many dialectics as there are dialecticians--all of
them absolutely correct and none of them entirely reconcilable. Before becoming
Mussolini's ideologue and philosopher, Giovanni Gentile (I am told) before
becoming the philosopher and ideologue of Italian fascism, was much admired by
Croce and others for his mastery of Hegel.

I spent five years in a digression from computer work doing scientific
community communications as a contractor for the Space Physics Division of
NASA.  I worked for an energetic but fundamentally stupid woman, wife of a
Republican political appointee, who loved to talk about "questions that have
plagued mankind from the beginning of time."  I had the opportunity to
interview Robert Parker, father of the Parker Solar Probe and discoverer of the
solar wind, for a video we were doing, and I asked him what he thought about
that.  He said he was more concerned about questions that have plagued mankind
"since the middle of last week."

As far as transsexuality is concerned, I happily declare once more that as far
as I am concerned--despite possible intellectual limitations and not AFAIK
being a Marxist--Chelsea Manning is an exemplary citizen who has in her way
done the world a power of good.  That's well beyond the basic requirements of
citizenship.  She can use any damn bathroom she pleases for all of me, and
creepy old JK Rowling will just have to live with it.
