If you are going to use an ahistorical definition of fascism, what is the point? All such definitions are stipulative. 99 out of 100 people who identify as "left" say "fascism" because they expect the second coming of Hitler. When Trump turns out not to be Hitler they don't know what to think, what to fight, or how to fight.
