I don't know about "the streets"-- a slippery phrase that plucks the fruiting body of manifestations without examining the mycelium as it were from which that springs--but some kind of extra-constitutional, anti-System Left mass organization is clearly necessary to prepare for the--imo not not inevitable but certainly possible and even probable--collapse of the hollowed-out US version of bourgeois democracy. This must somehow decisively reject the Turd Way toadstools that have been sprouting so abundantly among America's shit-slurping morons of late.
One of the things that Jan. 6 demonstrated--perhaps one reasons for its farcical aspect--was the utter, unconsidered contempt in which Congress was clearly held by the "demonstrators," and with it the entire superstructure of governance. They really thought that if they just blew on it it would fall apart. If the US constitutional cosa nostra collapses, as it very well might, some sort of rational organized alternative will be needed. At present, apparently, the left is in no position to offer this.
