I do think that the ruling class has NO INTEREST in fascism because the working class is so weak --- but Trump is "SUI GENERIS" --- he is an individual grifter who sees the Presidency is the ultimate grift --- ON THE WAY, however, he will empower the American "ORBANITES" who think they'll protect white and male privilege better than the international wing of the capitalist class ---
I think (this is VERY tentative and undeveloped) that there is a three-legged-stool supporting a kind of ORBAN-version of fascism (ORBAN has not engaged in wholesale killings -- agreed) --- the billionaires who benefited from neo-liberal capitalism --- the unreconstructed racists going all the way back into the 19th century -- increasing their fears to include immigrants of color, "uppity" women, etc. ---- and the religious right -- (a creation of oil wildcatters according to some sources) This grouping is not satisfied with the dominiation of the internationalist wing of the US capitalist class --- and they are anxious to reduce the democratic space that we live in .... In other words, I am PARTIALLY persuaded by Marv's points ...but not all the way.
