Thank you Hari, as always, for your response.

No, I didn't understand what "Revisionist" means (capital "R" no less) since it
is always a relative term. Usually it has to do with some one disagreeing with
one's own interpretation of "Marxism" or "Leninism" or "Trotskyism" and it is
OK, IMHO, to use these term if one gives a context. I don't see it from
Bhakdash because the context written 1932 means...what exactly? Certainly
"Lenin" and the Comintern before Lenin died, never endorsed cross class
alliances or defense of the "national bourgeoisie"...so where does Bhakdash
level his polemics against, during a time when the Comintern itself has
severally "revised" the earlier Leninist-Comintern of defense of the United
Front (tossed out the window in 1928 or so). So I would ask don't assume I or
anyone on the list "gets" what "Revisionist" means unless you contextualize it
better. I understand it is not YOUR writing but Bhakdash's but it would be nice
to know *exactly* what part of Lenin, specifically, or the Comintern policy at
that time, is being revised instead of just the assertions that they are.

When Lenin used this term he was referring generally toward the Bernsteinian
writings in the late 1800s/early 1900s. So did Engels. Lenin later applied to
this to Kautsky and his supporters. But if its slapped onto a polemic about the
subject in the essay, I'm simply bewildered. For example, he uses the term
"incorrect" but refuses, it seems, to say why it's incorrect. That is annoying.
You, as our sort of interlocutor, might do well why this is the case? I would
be helpful.

Of course Stalin opposed the "ism" attached to his name. As did Trotsky (since
it was often applied when there was no such thing as "Trotskyism", among other
reasons. As did Lenin.[Back 30 years ago when the MIA was founded we found out
that Zinoviev invented the term "Marxism Leninism" though in the Russian it
seems he didn't use it with a hyphen. That was in 1923 before Lenin had died.]

Before I wish you a happy Diwali , I would answer with a "yes" about finding
more about Bhakdash, that would be cool.

Happy Diwali dinner, I hope you have a lot of lamb included in it!

David
