Thanks for sharing this speech --- exhortations to "work together" are par
for the course from international civil servants and "experts" ---- I
apologize for cynicism but I see much of the speech (aside from the very
valuable historical re-iterations) as wishful thinking.

The powerful will continue to try and assert (or protect) their power and
advantages and the weaker will be harmed ---- obviously the most difficult
task of all is the "pricing" of carbon and if accurately priced (a tall
order in itself) actually enforcing that "price" === I am more old
fashioned -- I think there should be command and control and given the
seriousness of the emergency, a move towards virtually total bans on carbon
based energy systems --- but the fossil fuel legacy businesses are too
powerful for that --- they have to be BRIBED to shift ---

I wonder if ANY decision makers inside and outside the incoming Trump
ADminsitration will be dissuaded from their worst instincts ---
