If you mean the Mondragon conglomerate of firms:

• Thirty percent of the workers are owner-members; the remainder are temporary 
workers or hired labor in foreign branches.

• To become an owner-member, you must first work two years as a hiree, then you 
buy in with a required €15,000 "capital." You can pay this by taking a reduced 
salary or by borrowing from the Mondragon bank.

• Trade unions are not permitted, because the worker is the employer (ignoring 
the 70% of the workers who are not owner-members).

• The wages of the highest- and lowest-paid employees are allowed a spread of 
6-to-1.
