A friend of mine in a US auto plant told me in 2016 that about a third of the
plant were Trump supporters. I don't recall any socialist denial of the working
class appeal of Trump and MAGA. Do you have any evidence of that? Working class
support was evident also in the reactionary Tea Party predecessor of MAGA.

I meant to draw a distinction between the regime and the movement. They are not
the same thing, but their interactions are important. Trump announces that his
network of warehouse-prisons for immigrants will hold criminals and antifa in
the future; he announces white people are oppressed and begins admitting whites
from South Africa; Trump's war chief, Pete Hegseth, removes people of color and
women from US military command to shape it with military officers who are
presumably friendly to the MAGA agenda of white nationalism and
authoritarianism; Trump turns the ICE federal police into a paramilitary force,
and etc. The regime has not crushed working class organizations; they may not
even want to, but the MAGA movement continues to evolve and calling it
"fascist" is not an abuse of the term.
