However, "wanting negotiations" does not mean capitulation. Majorities consistently reject formal
territorial concessions or peace terms dictated by Moscow that compromise the nation's sovereignty
or involve recognizing Russian gains. Ukrainians remain deeply skeptical that the Russian
leadership has any genuine commitment to lasting peace, meaning any political settlement is viewed
through a lens of strict, enforceable security guarantees.
