Hello,
**** Please reply directly to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ****
I am connected through a Linux IP Masq server, with a firewall.
I am normally connected to 2 IRC servers.
I DO have this in my firewall / IP masq script:
/sbin/modprobe ip_masq_irc
I am having 3 problems:
1) DCC does not work....do I have to enable a port on the firewall for this?
2) my ISP kicks me off every 2 hours, and my Linux box reconnects. The
problem is, my workstation does not know about this, so just sits there and
I don't know I have been disconnected.
Someone suggested I put this in my firewall script:
echo 7 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr
This seems to help, but doesn't solve it...anyone have any more ideas?
3) Sometimes, I seem to get disconnected from both IRC servers, even though
the connection has not been reset...just for no apparent reason...anyone
have any ideas on this?
BTW, I have this also:
# Settings for FTP, SSH, and TELNET
/sbin/ipchains -A output -p tcp -d 0/0 21:23 -t 0x01 0x10
# Settings for WWW
/sbin/ipchains -A output -p tcp -d 0/0 80 -t 0x01 0x10
Can I use this sort of thing to optimize IRC ?
What do I want to use?
Thanks in Advance!
Bye for Now,
Ian
