I have ADSL with a static IP and the way I have it configured is by
installing two ethernet cards in my Linux Gateway. One that goes directly
into the ADSL modem and the other which would go into the hub (any old hub
will do). That way the ethernet card going to the hub can have the
addressing scheme of 192.168.0.X. Then your other ethernet card will have
the static IP address from your ISP. On the other machines on the network
you simply assign the default gateway as the address you gave the Linux
Gateways private ethernet card (192.168.0.X). As for the setup of Linux,
you will net to set the default route to the ethernet card that is
connected to the ISP... From there you should be able to follow the rest of
the documentation... Let me know if you have any specific questions about it.
